Hope Abramov and Laura Jordan named 2019 BTI Client Service All-Stars

April 2, 2019

BTI Consulting Group has selected partners Laura Jordan and Hope Abramov as “2019 Client Service All-Stars” based on unprompted client feedback it received during its annual survey of corporate counsel at Fortune 1,000 and other large organizations. Laura was recognized as an “Employment” All-Star while Hope was recognized in the “Labor & Employment” category.

“The BTI Client Service All-Stars demonstrate an unrelenting pursuit to find what best fulfills clients’ needs,” noted BTI in its 2019 report. “[They] can simplify even the most complex of legal matters and are unwavering in their dedication to clients. In short, general counsel and legal decision makers say these 335 attorneys represent the epitome of client service.”

Hope counsels human resource departments and business leaders on compliance with employment laws, including those involving discrimination, wage and hour, benefits, health and safety, and worker's compensation. Her practice is bolstered by her experiences as an in-house attorney for more than 10 years at an agribusiness with grain handling, processing and port facilities throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Hope intimately understands the needs and objectives of in-house counsel, and that unique perspective helps her craft practical business solutions and effectively communicate her common-sense advice to corporate leadership and HR professionals.

Laura provides high-level strategic human resources counseling to executives and HR managers during every phase of employment, from hiring and leaves of absence to terminations. She also defends these clients in any resulting litigation, litigating single-plaintiff and national wage and hour class action claims throughout the United States. Laura serves as primary outside employment counsel to employers across the country, from major financial institutions and large manufacturing operations to small nonprofit organizations. She is a member of Thompson Coburn's Management Committee and the chair of the firm's Total Commitment Women's Initiative. Laura was also named a BTI Client Service All-Star in 2017.

Thompson Coburn is one of just 72 law firms nationally with two or more Client Service All-Stars.

BTI compiles its All-Star list by asking corporate counsel, in an unprompted manner, to name an attorney who truly stands out as delivering the absolute best client service — by name. According to BTI, Client Service All-Stars possess five key traits: client focus, innovative thought leadership, exceptional understanding of a client’s business, legal skills, and unmatched client experience.

BTI, based in Wellesley, Massachusetts, is the leading provider of strategic research to law firms and general counsel. For the past 20 years, BTI has developed market research about client service, market direction and client satisfaction for more than 200 top law firms.
