HIGHER EDUCATION RISK MANAGEMENT

Recent scandals on campus have put prominent postsecondary institutions on the front page of the newspaper. These high-profile incidents did not stop at the doors of the athletic facility; they reverberated throughout those institutions and resulted in dismissals of coaches, athletic directors, general counsels, and presidents. For this reason, the best offense for a college or university is a strong, proactive defense.

The attorneys in our Corporate Compliance group, including a former U.S. Attorney, work closely with institutional leadership to conduct audits, lead training, and develop policies and procedures that target key areas of potential liability. In the wake of a damaging event, our attorneys can respond immediately, represent clients before the authorities, and work closely with an institution to craft an appropriate response.
