Our immigration team can guide postsecondary institutions in their efforts to host international students and faculty alike. Through regular interactions with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Department of Labor, we stay abreast of the ever-changing laws, policies, and procedures in the immigration space.
On a routine basis, our group obtains non-immigrant (temporary) and immigrant (permanent) visas for a wide variety of postsecondary faculty and staff, including administrators, faculty, engineers, computer professionals, scientists, health care professionals, and specialized technical personnel. We handle all stages of immigration filings, from the initial application filing, to obtaining extensions and ensuring residency for an employee while awaiting a green card.
We also counsel our postsecondary clients in matters related to the education of non-immigrant students and the administration of the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System. Our attorneys have represented institutions seeking initial certification to participate in the Student and Exchange Visitor Program, as well as those facing denial or withdrawal of eligibility.
