FOCUS St. Louis has selected Thompson Coburn’s Ali Rafferty for the 2018-2019 Leadership St. Louis program, a nationally known and respected leadership development program. Ali, a partner in the firm’s public finance practice, will join 63 other leaders from industries including higher education, finance, nonprofit, health and architecture this September for the nine-month program.
The Leadership St. Louis program includes a nine-month immersion into critical issues facing the St. Louis community today, including education, poverty, race, the environment, and economic development.
Ali represents public entities, investment banks and lenders in all types of public finance transactions. In addition, Ali works on affordable housing development matters and tax and development incentives.
Before coming to Thompson Coburn, Ali served as general counsel to the Indiana Finance Authority, where she managed legal work for the state bonding authority, including work on the Indianapolis Colts Lucas Oil Stadium financing and the Indiana Toll Road public private partnership.
Ali has previously served on the board of directors for the Mid-County Family YMCA, as well as Women in Public Finance, a professional networking organization that aims to support and encourage women in the public finance industry to pursue leadership positions and grow in their careers.
Thompson Coburn has a rich history with Leadership St. Louis; many of our attorneys have completed the LSL program, including Ryan Russell Kemper, Bill Bay, Lori Jones, Jarrod Sharp, Ed Cohen, David Dick, Laura Jordan and Cherie Stephens Bock.
