In this week’s episode, we cover the basic requirements that must be met before using a drone for business purposes under the FAA’s Small UAS Regulations, located at 14 CFR Part 107, including:    

  • Piloting requirements, including information on the 60-question exam that you’ll need to pass to obtain a Remote Pilot Certification
  • Basic operating rules for commercial UAS for speed, line of sight and relation to public spaces
  • Possible changes to operation rules proposed by a current Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on “Operation of Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Over People”
  • Documentation requirements, including waivers and proof of training/certification
