Our representation of pharmaceutical manufacturers dates back more than 70 years. There are more pharmaceuticals and medical devices in development and on the market today than ever before. These technologies require investment of countless hours and resources on research and development, manufacturing, and marketing. Each step in this process entails considerable risk arising from governmental policy and regulation, protection of intellectual property, and high-stakes litigation. We have the comprehensive knowledge and experience to address these risks.
We understand that maintaining public trust in our clients’ products is essential. Knowledge about our clients themselves, their products, and the laws and regulations that affect them is critical. In addition to our attorneys, we have medical personnel on staff and a number of patent agents with specific knowledge in the area of pharmaceuticals. Our full-time team includes a medical doctor as well as professionals who hold Ph.D. degrees in cellular biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology. Companies have chosen us to defend them in product liability litigation and class actions relating to antidepressants, cholesterol medications, pain pump delivery devices, vaccines, hormone replacement therapies, weight loss drugs, cancer treatment, rheumatoid arthritis treatment, medical devices, acetaminophen toxicity, Reglan/Metoclopramide, breast implants, VIOXX, and other products. We also counsel our pharmaceutical clients regarding antitrust issues relating to their products.
Protection of intellectual property is of paramount importance to pharmaceutical companies. Our attorneys have in-depth experience in drafting, protecting, and managing intellectual property portfolios. We have represented pharmaceutical clients in dealing with Customs and Border Protection and the U.S. State Department in their efforts to prevent unregulated imports and counterfeit medicines from entering the marketplace.
